Back to the 307. I had the horizontals fixed and beautifully blended in place some months ago. What I was referring to when I mounted them at that time, I do not know. Picking the beast up some time afterwards, I was astounded to see they were set significantly too far back. Unacceptable. No choice but to snap those sumbitches off and reinstall them where they belong. At that point it was obvious the stabs I stole from an Academy B-17 were not as long as they needed to be for a 307. Oh-my-God where will this one end? Extend with brass rod, sheet styrene and epoxy putty.
What a mess. Scribing elevator hinge lines through all that? Wish me luck. The horror. The horror.
Pat,is this the infamous Marquette kit that included a Frog B-17? If so you have my deepest sympathies and a C-124 load of good luck and best wishes flying your way.

Yessir, that's exactly what this is. It's jockeying for its position as one of my 3 or 5 worst kit experiences EVER. The longer I chip away, the lower my expectations become. What a pig. Oink, oink. Many thanks for the sympathy.

Didn't you swear off challenges like this one years ago? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me? You must be part masochist Pat!
Not that I should talk mind you...

Yes I did, but I STARTED this oinker years ago and have got way too many hours into it to abandon the thing...sad to say. (Haven't started anything like it since, so maybe I'm learning.)
