My "studio" (to be all highfalutin on you) is an upstairs bedroom in a house near Toledo, OH. The heat that's been in the news recently has reached us too. The house came with central air, but I disconnected the lines that were to bring cool to the upstairs, forcing more into the ground floor. This makes for a pretty toasty upstairs sometimes. A fan helps a lot and I can put up with sweating at the bench to a degree. Yesterday and today however, I've abandoned the upstairs to the elements. There's hot, then there's too hot. I'll bring some simple stuff down to the kitchen table, but I'm largely closed for business until the thermometer gets "reasonable" again.
Don't know how the Southerners do it.
July's electric bill should be something to see.
Yeah, I know what you mean Pat, some of that lovely heat is heading our way today and tomorrow. Not a fan of the heat, especially the humid variety. Stay in the cool zone and ride it out, that is my plan as well.

Being from Texas(but now residing in central VA),it feels like the old Summer heat from my former home state has found me.Hopefully the hurricanes I dealt with there will not be so lucky.
